I hope this message finds everyone well during these trying times and that your friends and family are safe and healthy.

I am going to join the recent chorus of job openings here on the list and announce that the Advanced Imaging Center (AIC) of HHMI Janelia Research Campus is looking for an Application Scientist. Many of you are already aware of the AIC, and the unique non-commercial instruments we offer to the world on a 100% open-access basis. In many ways, this is a unique opportunity to launch a career in which one acquires a balanced, cross-sectional view of optical physics, engineering, biology, chemistry, image computation, core facility operation and project management – on a global scale. 

The application scientist will work hands-on in the laboratory with AIC users. S/he will be a primary source of applications knowledge and expertise for all AIC users, and will become expert in the operation and use of various AIC instruments (especially the lattice light sheet and MOSAIC system), as well as processing and analysis of the resulting data.
