Leica Microsystems, a global leader in research microscopy, is looking for a
dynamic individual to manage our sales team in Canada. The ideal candidate will have 5 or more years experience in sales management and a strong track record in meeting or exceeding sales and profit goals. We are looking for a seasoned manager for our Life Science Division based out of Toronto. This person should be positive, able to direct dealers and direct reps as well. Responsibilities - Manage sales region to meet or exceed regional sales and profit budget. - Over next 12-24 months will be responsible for recruiting and adding additional sales representatives. - Create specific sales activity plans for each sales representative (or dealer) to align with strategic goals and meet sales and profit budget (Territory Plan) - Develop specific action plan for key Target Account penetration. - Recruit, train, and develop sales rep team using Value Selling (internal sales training course based on Mecuri methodology) - Provide accurate reporting through CRM for forecasting, won/lost orders, activity metrics, etc. to measure progress towards strategic and budget goals. - Provide standard monthly reports (market conditions, activity summary, competition, sales rep development, etc.) Travel: - This position requires heavy travel within the Region. 30-50% will be overnight travel. - This position will also require travel to Europe from time to time. Physical: - While this position is not directly responsible for lifting and setting up equipment. The staff that reports to this position are, so fine motor skills and ability to lift objects up to 75 lbs are occasionally required. Reports to: - North American Sales Director for Life Science Research. Education - Minimum MS degree in a science or engineering field or equivalent experience - Desired B.S. in Bioliogy with Master and/or MBA a plus. Background/Experience level - Minimum 3+ years experience in sales management with responsibility for managing 5-10 direct sales reps in scientific capital equipment sales. Another 5+ years experience as a sales representative in the scientific capital equipment field. - Desired 5+ years experience in sales management with responsibility for managing 5-10 sales reps in Life Science capital equipment sales. Another 7+ years experience as a sales representative in Life Science capital equipment field. Bonus Experience in Optical Microscopy Field |
