We will be looking for an individual to help run an “Imaging Resource” on the NIH campus in Bethesda Maryland. The focus of the “Resource” is “Systems Neuroscience Imaging” which in this case means looking at large volumes of brain tissue to trace connections, map injections, and compare gene expression between brain regions or between groups of animals. Microscopes will include an inverted Zeiss 780, an upright Leica SP8 confocal/multiphoton system, a LaVision lightsheet, a Zeiss Axioscan Z1 and other microscopes including a diSPIM will be accessible. We will help users with immunohistochemistry and in situ hybridization on conventional and thick cleared sections or whole brains. Available commercial software includes Arivis Vision4D and Microbrightfield Brainmaker and Neurolucida 360. Experience with custom software and a Unix environment would be helpful. The person hired will provide instruction and support for all of the above and become a scientific collaborator on several projects using this technology. Please contact Ted Usdin to informally discuss the position. The formal application process is not yet open and will be posted elsewhere.
