POSITION AVAILABLE – TECHNICAL SUPPORT SPECIALIST

Intelligent Imaging Innovations (3i) seeks a full-time Technical Support
Specialist for the UK. 3i is a leading manufacturer of advanced light microscopy
systems, primarily serving the academic biomedical research community, with
thousands of hardware and software systems installed throughout the world. 3i’s
diverse hardware installations cover spinning disc confocal, 2-Photon, TIRF, &
widefield microscopy platforms, as well as the Lattice Lightsheet, diSPIM, and
3i’s advanced photomanipulation tools, including Vector, Phasor, and Ablate.
3i was founded in 1995 and is based in Denver, Colorado and Göttingen, Germany,
with additional field staff elsewhere in the United States and Europe.


LOCATION: United Kingdom


RESPONSIBILITIES:

Telephone and Online Support:
Providing first response technical support to scientists at biomedical research
laboratories using the company’s imaging systems. Fielding email and phone
inquiries immediately upon receipt. Troubleshooting support issues involving
software installation and execution and opto-electronic hardware performance.
Documenting support issues and management of the reconciliation process via a
case tracking system.

Site Visits:
At times, extensive travel is required. Travel will mostly be within the United
Kingdom, but also Europe and occasionally worldwide. Site visits will consist of the same
type of support as email and phone inquiries, and will also include software and
hardware installation, system troubleshooting, basic hardware repair, equipment
relocation, annual system optimization and preventative maintenance, and non-
scientific user training.


QUALIFICATIONS:

•       Bachelor’s degree in engineering or science-related field is preferred
•       Experience in microscopy and biomedical sciences preferred
•       Extensive experience using and troubleshooting the Windows operating system
•       Strong analytic and problem-solving skills for optical and electrical systems
•       Excellent communication and teamwork skills
•       Must be available to travel on short notice
•       Must be able to lift heavy equipment
•       Must be a citizen or permanent resident of the UK


SALARY:
