Senior Imaging Technical Officer (Fixed Term)

Applications are invited for the post of a Senior Imaging Technical Officer to work with Prof David Rowitch Head of the Department of Paediatrics who leads a team of neuroscientists researching neurodevelopmental biology, oncology and stem cell biology and his group.

The role is required to provide users and collaborators with training, supervision and advice in all aspects of high content imaging from sample preparation and image acquisition to processing. The post requires proficiencies with using high throughput confocal microscope(s) from image acquisition through to data management and analysis. A vital task is to ensure that work carried out is conducted in a safe manner, both with regards to the equipment and other users and to liaise with the manufacturers regarding servicing, scheduled maintenance and upgrading.

The role holder is required to manage individual workstations and server infrastructure but to also support and troubleshoot advanced imaging software, data storage solutions and understanding various different software/ programming applications such as Matlab, Harmony/ Colombus, Fiji/ Cell Profiler and Spotfire, and how to make best use of the software for different applications as required.
