Four research groups in the Departments of Biophysics and Pharmacology at UT
Southwestern Medical Center and the Howard Hughes Medical Institute--Drs.
Michael Rosen, Hongtao Yu, Khuloud Jaqaman and Luke Rice--are seeking to
recruit a microscope systems manager.
This individual will oversee four microscope systems: a dual spinning disk
confocal/TIRF instrument (Leica/Roper), a TIRF single molecule/
super-resolution instrument (Nikon/Spectral), a TIRF instrument (Olympus),
and a DeltaVision instrument (GE). Responsibilities will include maintaining
hardware and software, training new users and interfacing with instrument
manufacturers. An ideal candidate will also be motivated to help users design
and implement experiments and write new image acquisition and/or analysis
software.
Candidates should have a Ph.D. in a relevant area (e.g. biophysics, cell biology
or potentially optical physics) and experience with various microscopy
techniques and instrumentation.
UT Southwestern is a vibrant, interdisciplinary and collaborative research
community. The manager will be encouraged to integrate into this community
by participating directly in research, and attending lab meetings of the
participating groups, graduate program Work-In-Progress series, and
departmental and university research seminars.
Applicants should send a curriculum vitae and one-page description of previous
research/microscopy experience to
[hidden email].
The University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center is an Affirmative
Action/Equal Opportunity Employer. Women, minorities, veterans and individuals
with disabilities are encouraged to apply.
