Abberior Instruments America is a successful, fast-growing provider of STED super resolution microscopes in the US.
Abberior-Instruments is providing highly innovative and customizable STED imaging systems for core imaging facilities and individual PI’s. We were founded by Nobel Prize Laureate, Stefan Hell who is the inventor of STED are a lead innovator in the field of super resolution microscopy.
We are looking for an Application Scientist providing STED and confocal microscope demos.
As an early part of a fast-growing team you will also contribute your talent in a variety of fields in on- and off-line marketing, sales and workshop organization.
Position Title: Field Application Scientist STED microscopy
Responsibilities:
- Present seminars/workshops and conduct instrument demonstrations at customer sites
Pre-demo: educate on STED compatible dyes and labeling, demo plan and shipment logistics
Demo: image customer samples by optimizing imaging parameters and settings
Post-demo: demo data summary, technical follow-ups
- Conduct new instrument installations and provide on-site customer training
- Proactively seek out new sales business and assist assigned sales representative in closing orders
- Determine customer requirements and expectations in order to recommend specific products and solutions.
- Educate customers about terminology, features and benefits of products in order to improve product related sales and customer satisfaction
- Contact customers following sales to ensure ongoing customer satisfaction and resolve any complaints
- Service instruments in the field
Qualifications:
- BS, MS or Ph.D. in BioSciences, Bioengineering, or Physics with optics specialty
- 4+ years confocal and super resolution imaging experience required
- STED imaging experience strongly desired
- Extensive knowledge of confocal light microscopy and advanced Bio-Science technologies
- Extensive knowledge in optical instrument design and/or service, imaging and software applications
- Previous technical sales a plus; will consider scientists from the bench or imaging core lab with the desire and aptitude to transition to a customer facing role
- Strong interpersonal, organizational and presentation skills
- Ability to work well within a team
- Self motivated
- Extensive travel required
