Job opening in Bioimaging Facility, IST Austria

Dear colleagues,

We are enlarging our team and are searching for a  Bioimaging/FACS technician to support daily operation of Bioimaging facility in the IST Austria.

IST Austria is a new international institute dedicated to be a world-class research center focused on the natural sciences, which is located in Klosterneuburg on the outskirts of Vienna. The Bioimaging Facility of the IST Austria provides state-of the art fluorescence microscopy service, including several widefield confocal, multiphoton and total internal reflection systems. The facility also offers FACS services, as well as custom image analysis and optical development services. We are seeking for a colleague who will devote half of his/her time to microscopy and half to FACS services.

Your main Tasks:
                - Routine care of the microscopy equipment and FACS setup
                - Support and basic training of the users of Bioimaging Facility
                - Operation and support of the FACS setup
                - Optionally, support of image analysis projects
                - Optionally, participation in the research projects initiated by user groups
Your Profile:
                - Relevant education in optics or biology (TA/MSc/PhD)
                - Experience with microscopy and/or cell sorting is preferred
                - Reliability and ability to work independently
                - Very good communication skills in English
We welcome flexible and reliable team players who are interested in working in an international environment within a diverse and dynamic working atmosphere. Possible starting date is 1.1.2015 or later.
Salary will be depending on education, qualification, and work experience.
IST Austria values diversity and is committed to equality, minimal salary 1800 € gross/month.

Hi Manoj,

Thanks for your comment. Yes, this happens a lot, and i did not want to exclude applications of people who, having PhD, would apply for TA position. There might be reasons. This does not mean that we will give a preference to the higher degree, but rather that we want to cover whole range of people who might be interested.
