The Hamburg Center for Experimental Therapy Research (HEXT) forms a new common
roof for translational groups at the UKE.
By creating several core facilities, HEXT aims at providing all scientists at the UKE and
related research centers with the latest technical know-how and up-to-date service support.
For the new UKE Microscopic Imaging Facility we offer a
Postdoctoral Position
Provided the approval of funds, the position is currently limited until December 31st 2012, but
will likely be extended.
Your responsibilities:
- set-up of a core facility focused on optical microscopy and image analysis
- management of the facility including personnel, equipment, organization of shared access
to the microscope systems
- evaluation of novel microscopic techniques of potential interest and integration in the work
flow of the facility
- providing expert training and advice to users
Your profile:
- PhD degree in cell biology/life sciences or equal qualifications
- excellent knowledge and practical experience in optical microscopy and image analysis
- work experience with confocal microscopy and preferably imaging techniques like spinning
disk, multi-photon, and FRET-FLIM
- strong organizational and administrative skills
- excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
