Center Manager (Available Immediately)
The Boyce Thompson Institute for Plant Research (BTI) seeks an individual
with expertise in confocal microscopy to manage the BTI Plant Cell Imaging
Center. The position includes research (50%) and managerial (50%)
components. Research will focus on membrane protein targeting in
arbuscular mycorrhizal symbiosis. Managerial duties include day-to-day
oversight of the center, user training and consultation, and assisting
users with equipment. The center houses a confocal microscope, several
epifluorescence microscopes, microtomes, digital imaging equipment and data
analysis software

We seek a highly motivated individual with a strong publication record,
demonstrated ability to conduct independent research, and excellent
communication skills. An M.S or Ph.D. in biology, and experience with
plant cell biology is required. Demonstrated expertise with laser scanning
confocal microscopy is essential.
