Job description:

The Senior Scientist - High Content Imaging and Screening, will work as a member of a group providing high throughput screening data to support new lead identification, in vitro pharmacology and target identification and validation needs by working with Therapeutic Area project teams. The Sr. Scientist will focus on strategic assay and screen design, assay development/optimization, image analysis and automated data analysis for high content cell based assays, phenotypic and physiologically relevant systems. This individual will be a member of a laboratory focused on cell based high throughput screening and assay development, and will support the image based screening efforts of multiple therapeutic areas and scientific initiatives. Special consideration will be given to candidates with emphasis in neuroscience, immunology and/or oncology backgrounds.

The Sr. Scientist will design, validate and deliver high quality in vitro screening data from high content imaging based pharmacology screens to drive lead series identification, optimization and drug candidate selection. The Sr. Scientist will be asked to bring strategic insight into the screen design, ensure robust decision-making that is appropriate for the biological challenges of image based and phenotypic assays, and enable the investigation of molecular mechanisms of actions. He/she will serve as a point of contact for the drug discovery project teams. Applicants must have a strong scientific background in high content imaging and cell biology, computational image analysis and drug discovery data analysis. The candidate will possess strong collaborative, organizational and communication skills be able to concurrently balance multiple projects with Therapeutic Area partners. The Sr. Scientist should demonstrate personal leadership within the group, scientific leadership both at the bench and at computational data analysis, and be adept at multi-tasking.

The Senior Scientist - High Content Imaging and Screening should be experienced in high content imaging and phenotypic in vitro assay development. This individual will lead local and global High Content Screening projects. S/he will design and implement image analysis routines using commercial and open-source software packages. S/he will support molecular mechanism of action identification. S/he will maintain a 'state-of the art' awareness of new technology advances (i.e. cytof, superResolution), computational modeling system developments, and scientific knowledge in the field and apply these where appropriate. The Senior Scientist in High Content Imaging and Screening will promote Janssen High Content Screening capabilities and reputation through external publications and presentations.

Best Regards,

Emmanuel
