Dear Lister,
A full-time technician position is available at the NeuroTechnology Studio (NTS) at Brigham and Women’s Hospital (BWH) Program for Interdisciplinary Neuroscience. The NTS is a core facility that provides a broad range of optical imaging technologies for neuroscience research at BWH and other Harvard-affiliated institutions. Further instruments will be added in future as the core and its user community continue to grow.
The person in this position will assist the core manager in training scientists to use the core equipment, assist users in optimizing data acquisition, customizing the equipment and software to meet their needs and troubleshooting issues that may arise during imaging. In addition, he/she will be responsible for general maintenance of the core equipment, which currently includes two point-scan confocal, a multiphoton system, a widefield microscope, a high-throughput imager, an Agilent seahorse metabolic analyzer and potentially an Illumina NextSeq system.
This is an excellent opportunity for an individual interested in developing skills in optical microscopy and other areas of biomedical research. The person will be trained and supervised by Dr. Lai Ding, Senior Scientist and core manager at NTS.
