LSM510 META Tubus PCB repair/replace

Afternoon all,

I hope you can be of help. The Zeiss LSM 510 Meta system which I work on has
ceased to work. I got in touch with Zeiss and sent them the Error log which
they have analyzed. They believe the problem to be at the Tubus and in
particular a couple of PCB's which seem not to be working correctly.

Is this a common fault? Has anyone had them replaced or repaired in the
past? Could you suggest a reason for the fault. Seems quite strange that a
PCB would just fail. Is this a recurring problem that Zeiss may be aware of?

Alas I do not have a service contract so I guessing I shall be having a
visit from one of the tech support engineers.

Thanks in advance

Steve

Re: LSM510 META Tubus PCB repair/replace

HI Steven,

Our LSM 510 has had a few issues, we purchased it almost two years ago.
WE are about to get the meta detector replaced as it has a fault also
there is a PCB  that needs replacing that is affecting the gain
parameters.  We also had a board replaced not long after we purchased
it.  I too am not sure if Zeiss has an ongoing problem though none of
our issues has stopped us being able to use the instrument for all of
our standard work.
