Dear List,
We have just got an old Biorad MRC 1024 system. We didn't check it very careful and there is some problem with the electric control box for the laser (a 15 mW Krypton/Argon ion laser with emission lines at 488nm, 568 nm and a 647 nm line). When I pressed the button to on and turned on the key to "emission on" mode, the fan in the control unit didn't move and no laser come out. There should be some problems with the electric. Have anyone met this kind of circumstances?
Another thing is that we want to couple 800 nm fs laser into the microscope and want to use a fiber for coupling. We want to use the fs laser to realize CARS imaging, like two photon imaging. Any suggestion on using Biorad for this? Can we take out the laser shutter in the Krypton/Argon ion laser for controling the fs laser?
The first experience with confocal, some question maybe fundamental; looking forward to help!
Best wishes!
