I am wondering if anyone knows the details of the optical path of the Leica SP2 confocal system. I have decommissioned our old SP2 but want to repurpose the DMIRBE inverted microscope for another imaging system. I would be attaching the camera to the side
port where the SP2 was attached. The arm between the scan head and the microscope has two lenses in it and the side port has another lens in the mounting adapter. I am presuming that all will be fine imaging through that port with all the lenses removed,
but I am unclear on what their purpose was in the original system. It seems like a lot of glass to add without some point. Does anyone know what their function was? Thanks- Dave
