To support its research strategy, the Food Science Department at the NRC
is seeking a:


Microscopy Technician


Main responsibilities:
*    Prepare samples (fixation, embedding, cutting) for light/confocal
food microscopy analysis
*    Handle light/confocal microscopes and if necessary electron
microscopes (TEM and SEM)
*    Use digital image acquisition tools
*    Provide results, interpret data and write reports
*    Contribute to the microscopy methodology development
*    Train new users of optical microscopes
*    Ensure administrative management of microscopes' equipments
*    Guarantee quality of results and manage lab security

Required profile:
*    Technical diploma in a biology related field
*    Several years experience using light/confocal microscopy in a R&D
environment
*    Good command of French and English (oral & written)

Personal requirements:
*    Result oriented and good team spirit
*    Flexibility and good adaptation skills
*    Aptitude to work autonomously and solve problems
*    Good communication skills (oral & written)
