The power supply has been playing up for a while, often takes a few turns of the key (https://imgur.com/oy0jFWR) before it powers up. Now it has finally died. No power at all to the distribution board (https://imgur.com/lWaQHKm). Does anyone know if I can simply replace this component?(https://imgur.com/p3HjtYB). Power cut off behind the key. Its just got a single live cable going in then out again. cheers Dale |

The easiest thing to do would be to power down the device and let it sit for a bit (for the caps to discharge), and then using a multimeter measure the resistivity between the two wire contacts with the switch open and closed. Also, jostle the key a bit and see if this modulates the resistivity. If the switch needs to be replaced, then replacing the part should be pretty trivial. At best, Digikey or Mouser have the exact same part in stock. if not, just get a similar diameter key switch that has the same NO/NC configuration as the current switch. Thanks also to the off list replies, if I can’t do it myself I've a few recommendations for help.
