Deadline: Friday 11 Feb. _Brief summary _ We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated individual to manage all aspects of the operation of the MMI-MHTP Imaging laboratories: this includes providing advanced light microscopy expertise and user support, as well as overseeing instrument maintenance and laboratory standards (OHS/QMS). The role will include but is not limited to: • Provision of specialised imaging expertise and support for researchers and students, specifically in the development and application of advanced microscopy, live cell and intravital fluorescence imaging and related analysis methods • Overseeing repairs and coordinating annual servicing if instrumentation, in conjunction with the Hudson and MMI Managers • Coordinating the development and promotion of educational and training materials and programs for staff and students in use of the microscopy applications • Supervision of junior technical staff, research staff and students as needed • Overseeing the operational budget Level A – Requires a PhD in cell /molecular biology or equivalent biomedical stream with significant imaging experience. Level B – Requires postdoctoral experience in cellular imaging. The Monash Health Translation Precinct (MHTP) is a partnership between Monash Health, the Hudson Institute of Medical Research and Monash University. It is located at Monash Medical Centre Clayton, about 25 km from the centre of Melbourne. The Precinct unites the largest health care service provider in Victoria with the largest Australian University and a leading medical research institute. The MHTP hosts a network of nine technology platforms that are co-located within our Translational Research Facility. Monash Micro Imaging (MMI) is the University's Advanced Optical Microscopy Platform, and the outpost/node at the MHTP is about 2.5km from the main campus of the University at Clayton. Instrumentation at MMI-MHTP includes: widefield automated microscopes, confocal and spinning disk microscopes, a new multiphoton microscope, a home-built STORM system, a stereology system, a light-sheet (based on di-SPIM, under construction), and image analysis software/hardware.
