Hello,

Has anyone used a Microscan Visionscape GigE camera (such as the CMG20
or CMG50) for epifluorescence and/or brightfield imaging? If so, have
you tried to use it within Micro-Manager? (it uses the JAI GigE Vision
driver which uManager supports)

The CMG20 has a 1/1.8" CCD mono 1624 x 1236 sensor and the CMG50 has a
1/2.5" CMOS mono 2592 x 1944 sensor. No information on what bit depth
these can output, 12 bit would be a minimum. Can't find any QE plots
either, but "relative efficiency" of the sensor (as per the product
manual) seems to be distributed across the spectrum similarly to most
scientific cameras.

Not looking for anything high performance, just trying to have a setup
for "casual" image acquisition at low cost. If you have any other
suggestions for cameras that can also be acquired very cheaply second
hand and would offer similar performance, please let me know.

Best regards,
Mel

No idea about your specific model (you can ask the MicroManager listserv,
though that does a lot of overlap with this one).  It seems to be a
crapshoot as to which industrial cameras work with MicroManager and which
don't.

I am using the IDS UI-3880CP Rev 2 on a scope now with MicroManager.  Was
~$600 for 3088 x 2076 px at 50+ fps.  QE is 70+% in the green.  Worked with
MicroManager with zero hassle, unlike some of the other similar cameras I
have tried.

Thanks,
Rusty
