Dear all

We have a new and exciting opportunity for a Microscopy Image Analyst within the Microscopy Core to work with research groups in the Oxford Institute for Radiation Oncology/Department of Oncology to provide specialist support and advice on the analysis of images taken on systems within the Microscopy Core. This may involve the use of commercial software or the development of software routines if none are available.  The role will also provide support in the use, maintenance, development and quality control of the microscopes within the Core.

You will have a BSc/MSc or equivalent, plus relevant experience, or a PhD in biology, biophysics or related scientific discipline. Experience of image analysis with relation to microscopy using various software platforms is also essential.  In addition, you will have a thorough understanding of the acquisition process and hardware optimisation involved in optical microscopy.  An ability to interact with other scientific disciplines is also considered essential, along with a structured approach to problem solving.

Experience in the use of microscopy for biological imaging is an essential requirement, together with the ability and confidence to communicate in English clearly and accurately, both orally and in writing with especial reference to scientific and safety information.

This is a full-time post, although part-time hours would be considered, and is available for three years in the first instance.

All applicants must complete a short application form and upload a CV and supporting statement.

The closing date for applications is 12 noon on 28 November 2016.
