QIMR is looking for a scientist experienced in microscopy to take on the role of facility microscopist. The primary responsibilities of the position will be to manage and operate the microscopy equipment within the facility, troubleshoot and rectify problems with equipment, assist scientists with imaging experiments and provide formal and informal training to facility users.

The successful applicant will have a minimum BSc or equivalent degree qualifications with experience in a research environment. Substantial expertise in all areas of microscopy especially with fluorescent and confocal microscopy as well as live cell imaging is essential. This position requires strong analytical and problem solving skills together with the ability to work independently with minimal supervision and highly developed interpersonal and communication skills.
