The facility is also in charge for set up and maintenance of instrumentation and training for its use. The personnel of the facility is also involved in scientific (external and internal) collaborations for the development of confocal microscopy based applications for biomedical research. The unit comprises a wide range of microscopes, including widefield fluorescence microscopes, confocal microscopes, multiphoton microscope and in vivo imaging instruments for luminescence and fluorescence tomography. Further information on the facility and research activities can be found at http://www.humanitas-research.org The person filling this position will - train scientists to use the instruments of the core facility - give advice on sample preparation and experiment design - assist the team in teaching courses on light microscopy - maintain the functionality of facility instrumentation. The suitable candidate is expected to have strong practical background in light microscopy connected to biological questions. Knowledge in image processing and FLIM/FCS techniques are an asset. The applicant should be reliable, well organized and have the flexibility needed for working in a service-oriented context. Candidate must be able to work on a flexible schedule based on research needs & deadlines. Good communication skills in English and the ability to be a team player in a multi-disciplinary environment are required. Starting date: the position is available as of 18.11.2014. Duration: fixed-term contract of one year, renewable for three years.
