Research Technologist

TRANSPLANTATION INSTITUTE

A full-time research technologist position is available immediately at the
Thomas E. Starzl Transplantation Institute, Department of Surgery,
University of Pittsburgh in the multiphoton intravital imaging core.  The
candidate will assist in running the core. The candidate should be familiar
with operation and maintenance of biological microscopy (e.g. Confocal,
multiphoton) and quantitative image analysis. Those with prior use of
Imaris, Volocity, Image J and MATLAB and experience in immunology research
are highly encouraged to apply. Research experience in basic techniques of
small animal surgery is desirable. Initial intense training for the position
will be provided. The candidate will assist the core director for data
acquisition, analysis for the core users. Baccalaureate in biological or
physical sciences and at least 3 years of relevant research experience is
required. Candidates with quantitative research background, an ability to
follow and adopt new microscopy techniques and MasterĀ¹s degree level skill
sets are preferred.  Salary will be commensurate with the experience level.
Strong interpersonal skills and an ability to work with mice will be
required for the position.
