       Molecular Cytology Core Facility at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center is looking for candidates to fill the Senior Digital Microscopy Technician position

 
The Molecular Cytology Core Facility (MCCF) at the Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center seeks a Senior Digital Microscopy Technician.  The MCCF is equipped with state of the art imaging systems including Leica and Zeiss point-scanning confocal microscopes, an Ultraview spinning disk and a Zeiss line-scanning confocal, and several widefield fluorescence microscopes.  A number of widefield and confocal systems are equipped with live imaging capacity. MCCF uses Volocity, AxioVision, Metamorph, Amira, Imaris, AutoDeblur and other software.
 
Responsibilities:
·                Train and assist users in imaging equipment.
·                Assist in post-acquisition processing and analysis of the data.
·                Maintain, calibrate, and monitor the performance of imaging systems
·                Keep abreast and evaluate the newest hardware/software technological advances.
·                Communicate with vendors to set up demos of new equipment or service appointments.  
·                Conduct individual and collaborative research projects

Qualifications/Skills:
·               MA/PhD in biomedical engineering or related fields.  Background in engineering/physics is preferred
·                Possess extensive experience in research working with advanced fluorescent microscopy.  
·                Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work with users, vendors, engineers, and staff.     
·                Ability to work in a team environment.  
·                Strong organizational skills and ability to multi-task are required as well.
