We are currently looking for a Biosystems Technical Specialist based in Nikon US headquarters at Melville, NY to troubleshoot and prioritize support requests regarding digital imaging systems. As a member of Software Systems Department, the individual will work with the software support group, service team, and product managers to provide support for customers and/or NII representatives. *KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**: * · Work with NII Software team to triage and prioritize incoming support requests of advanced digital imaging systems. · Interface with Product group and Service team to provide application/ hardware/ software support. · Understand biological research applications and provide customized solutions to fulfill customer’s needs. · Work with NY Service team to evaluate/ repair equipment. · Product testing and document results. · Develop and deliver trainings for internal staff and customer. · Work with the Service Department on critical equipment installations and on-site service visits as needed. · Participate in software project developments. *QUALIFICATIONS**: * · Advanced knowledge of optics, lasers, and digital microscopy techniques. · Understanding and experience with fluorescence, confocal, and super resolution microscopy applications. · Ability to comprehend complex topics and present them in an understandable format. · Ability to work independently under challenging situations. · Experience with technical support/ development in microscopy industry or research institutes. Imaging core facility experience is a plus. · Ability to travel 10% (overnight and possibly international). Thank you very much! here is the detailed information: Title: Research Associate (Postdoctroal Research Fellow) Posting Snapshot: The Institute for Quantitative Health Science and Engineering is seeking a Research Associate in the Qiu and Dantus’ lab. Position Summary: The Dantus Lab in the Department of Chemistry and the Qiu Lab in the Deptartment of Biomedical Engineering at the brand new Institute for Quantitative Health Science and Engineering (IQ) are seeking a post-doctoral Research Associate. The position will be conducting research on nonlinear optics and label-free microscopy system. The research will be mainly focused on femtosecond fiber laser and pulse shaping, optical MEMS based multiphoton and second harmonic generation imaging system development and its clinical applications. IQ is closely collaborating with the Michigan State University School of Human Medicine and College of Veterinary Medicine, the National Lab in Chicago, and the Stanford Cancer Center. Representative recent publications from the Dantus and Qiu Labs include: Femtosecond Laser Shaping: From Laboratory to Industry, CRC Press, 2017; Nature Photonics 10 (8), 534-540, 2016; Gastroenterology. 2014 Mar; 146(3): 615–617; Nature Photonics 5, 103–109, 2011. Minimum Requirements: A PhD (or equivalent) in Optics, Chemistry, Biomedical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Apply Physics, Bio-Instrumentation or a related field is required. Demonstrated excellence in one or more of the following areas is required: ultrafast laser, optical MEMS/micro-systems, microscopy techniques. Desired Qualifications: Familiarity with one or more of the following areas is preferred: fiber laser, optical imaging systems, optical design and manufacturing, fiber optics, spectroscopy, image processing, programming in Labview/C++/Matlab/Python.
