We are currently looking for a *Super Resolution Systems Product Manager*
to work in our Melville, NY Headquarters who would develop and implement
product management and planning for the Super Resolution product
family.   Trough
interaction with end users and the Advanced BioSystems sales and support
teams, summarize and provide feedback for future development to the factory
design team.  Interact with and support technical information /
applications, marketing aspects, and other sales related activities with
the Sales Division, Dealers and Sales representatives to obtain information
on current product situations, new product trends and capabilities.  Manage
and support demonstration sites for Super Resolution product family.



*KEY JOB FUNCTIONS**:  *



·       Manage forecasting to maximize fill rate and minimize markdown of
inventory at end of product life cycle.

·       Develop forecasting models based on market trends, statistics,
sales channel data and corporate goals.

·       Interface with NII management and Sales Division  to establish
product planning component of Company’s long term business plan

·       Work closely with the National Applications and Training Manager,
and BioSystems Sales manager to continue implementation of a comprehensive
Super Resolution training program.

·       Work closely with end users, the ABS, AIS, and SBAM teams and
managers to determine needed improvements and modifications to keep us
competitive in the market, and summarize this information for the factory
confocal design team.

·       Keep up on trends and emerging applications in the market, and
suggest necessary modifications and additions to the Super Resolution
product roadmap based on the market direction and competitive offerings.

·       Collect and disseminate Nikon and competitive product information
through our product specialists and marketing teams via a variety of print
and digital media.

·       Institute and maintain communications regarding product changes,
updates, improvements and planning schedules within Sales and
Product/Marketing Divisions.

·       Work with sales team, application managers and directly with
customers to solve product related issues and problems.

·       Write product bulletins, technical and comparative literature for
Dealers and Nikon Direct field personnel.

·       Responsible for keeping SAP database accurate as to, product
status, prices, discounts, and other condition records.

·       Manage aspects of field marketing for Nikon Super Resolution
products at Trade Shows, Workshops and Courses.



*QUALIFICATIONS**:  *



·       Travel required, minimum of 20% (includes overnight travel).

·       5 + years experience in microscopy and product planning

·       BS in Science or Engineering required

·       MS or Ph.D. preferred, but not required

Job Description
JOB SUMMARY:
Responsible for developing and executing Confocal and high end imaging
system marketing strategies that successfully promote the Olympus Confocal
and other Microscope product line. Conduct product development and
application support for the elements of the Olympus Microscope portfolio
as assigned by the Group Manager.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Create a business plan, strategic marketing plan and forecast by product
per direction from Group Manager
Process purchasing orders and handling logistics for complex sales
Launch new product, including product evaluations/test site management,
and creation of promotional material
Work with Olympus Tokyo to retire products and align product switch-over
plans with all internal and external stakeholders
Assist sales in achieving net revenue target by providing marketing
collateral and participate in sales calls with representatives for product
support as directed by the Group Manager
Manage development of promotional campaigns, advertising and tradeshows,
and creation of brochures, websites, specification sheets, and press
releases with support from Marketing Communications and affiliate agencies

Independently and continuously evaluate and assess new / emerging
technologies that may enhance the Olympus product portfolio Form
partnerships by maintaining contact/developing relationships with key
scientific collaborators
Support current install base with support from TSG by addressing technical
inquiries via the telephone and/or email working toward an appropriate
resolution
Perform other related job duties as assigned
Manage Field Marketing activities including workshop support as needed
Requirements
SKILLS:
Must be a self-starter that is assertive, possesses a high degree of
self-confidence and intellectual curiosity, and demonstrates good
professional presence
Must be comfortable working across functional areas such as Sales,
Marketing, Finance, Operations, etc. and with global partners
The ability to manage multiple projects/tasks concurrently under
aggressive timelines in a dynamic environment is essential
Attention to detail and follow up are a must
Advanced-level of proficiency in Word, Excel, Powerpoint is required
EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor's degree in Life Sciences/Physics/Biology and/or Marketing or
equivalent knowledge and experience is required.  An advanced degree in
Life Science/Physics/Biology is preferred.
Full knowledge required for application using confocal microscope.
Advanced-level of proficiency in imaging applications is essential.
Minimum 3 years hands-on experience in Confocal microscopy and CCD imaging
system techniques is required.
