You can download the manual… just google "NIS Elements User Guide" , and you'll get a few hits.
There are also some tutorials on Nikon's web site:
http://www.nis-elements.com/there, you can view the quick tour and some demos, but it will be quite superficial….. The user guide is probably the way to go.
Otherwise, if you specify where you live, there may be someone around there who knows NIS Elements and can teach you.
I am assuming you are already familiar with basic image processing and analysis techniques (such as ImageJ). If not, you may want to learn some basic techniques of image analysis first. One site I like that describes basic techniques using ImageJ is this one:
