Dear All-

An update on the OME Community Meeting.

The meeting *will go ahead as planned May 26-28, 2020*, but will use a
virtual format. While we love welcoming you all to Dundee, the current
COVID crisis is limiting gatherings and domestic and international travel
is rapidly changing. Therefore we’ll switch to a virtual meeting, combining
webinar-style presentations, breakouts, discussions rooms. We’ve already
lined up a great set of speakers-- now we just have to work out a schedule
that allows speakers and participants from a range of 18 timezones to
participate productively without falling asleep on their keyboards.

Our current plan, which seems pretty solid (but might still change as we
work through TZs and process), is to have 3 days dedicated to related, but
separate topics:

May 26 – Public data resources
May 27 – Advanced Imaging Data Applications
May 28 – Practical workshops

Hopefully this structure will give different members of the community
flexibility and structure they will need for planning. We are still working
through the details, and we’d appreciate any feedback or suggestions you
might have. We’ll continue to post updates here, on Twitter (@openmicroscopy)
and on the OME website <https://www.openmicroscopy.org/>.

Looking forward to “meeting” you all in May (and hearing any suggestions or
feedback you have on this new way of working!)
