Dear all,
We have an open PhD position at the University of Cambridge for the development of automated microscopy platforms for spectral and lifetime imaging using supercontinuum radiation. The project is part of an EU Marie Curie Training Network grant and there will be frequent travel to collaborating partners and for training, e.g. to summer schools.
The purpose of the proposed instrumentation is to perform small molecule screens in models of disease in libraries of C. Elegans using fluorescence sensors for protein misfolding and aggregation in the context of Alzheimers' disease. The research is set in a strongly interdisciplinary environment and draws on infrastructure and expertise that exists within the Cambridge Consortium for Neurodegenerative Disease.
