Dear All,
We have an opening in Singapore for a Managing Director of the Microscopy Core Facility as detailed below:
https://nus.edu/2kKsIJJ

####################################

The Mechanobiology Institute (MBI, https://mbi.nus.edu.sg/) at the National University of Singapore (NUS) is seeking a Managing Director of the Microscopy Core Facility, an advanced core imaging facility featuring 20+ advanced optical microscopy systems including custom-developed instruments.

The primary mission of the MBI microscopy core is to provide comprehensive and state-of-the-art imaging expertise and modalities to researchers at MBI and collaborating institutions, to provide educational support on imaging and image analysis to the research community at MBI and NUS, and to support the Singapore-wide network of imaging core facilities, SINGASCOPE.

The Managing Director will supervise several staff members with various levels of expertise who are responsible for the operation and maintenance of instruments and facilities. The Managing Director will be responsible for strategic planning for upgrades and procurement, budget, user training and support, safety and fiduciary compliance, and the administration of a charge-back system.  The Managing Director, collectively with the core facility team members, will also support Principal Investigators (PIs) on specific research projects and funding applications. The Managing Director will also be expected to actively coordinate with SINGASCOPE, regularly liaise with MBI Faculty Advisory Committee, and organize regular workshops on latest microscopy techniques and their applications.

Applicants are expected to have expert knowledge in diverse and cutting-edge imaging modalities and image analysis, strong hands-on experience in optical alignments as well as in the application of imaging technologies to biomedical research.  In addition to a relevant publication track record, experience in managing a team of technical experts or in research-support facilities with academic focus is highly desirable.  Good communications and organizational skills are expected.  Candidates should have a Ph.D. degree in a relevant discipline, such as physics, biophysics, biology, or bioengineering.

Rank and salary are commensurate with experiences and qualifications.
