Microscopy Specialist - BioOptics Core Facility (m/f)
The IMP-IMBA-GMI Research Centre is a research cooperation of Boehringer Ingelheim and the Austrian Academy of Science. The BioOptics Facility of this centre is seeking a highly motivated, full-time microscopy specialist to join the team.
The BioOptics Facility provides the researchers at the IMP/IMBA/GMI with service in flow cytometry, microscopy as well as image processing and analysis. The facility is equipped with state-of-the-art optical microscopes (light microscopy as well as confocal laser-scanning, multi-photon and total internal reflection microscopes) plus imaging software, analytical flow cytometers and cell sorters - see cores.imp.ac.at/biooptics/. The members of the team maintain the equipment, give training to the researchers, support them in project planning and perform more advanced experiments or analyses.
The ideal applicant should have some laboratory training, a strong technical interest in instrumentation, advanced computer skills as well as good communication and social skills. Experience in microscopy and image analysis is a plus, the willingness to handle advanced optical instruments and to learn new techniques including programming is essential.
The Research Center offers the opportunity to work in a dynamic international environment with excellent benefits. The position is full-time and the initial limited contract could be extended to a permanent contract.
