we are about to fill an open Post-Doc position - see details below:

Postdoctoral position in Imaging

DNA Damage Response Group at Max F. Perutz Laboratories in Vienna, Austria,
is looking for a postdoctoral scientist with solid experience in advanced
microscopy. The three-year project focuses on using innovative optical
microscopy techniques to visualize chromatin remodelling at DNA damage
sites. We are looking for a particularly motivated, creative and self-driven
scientist to work closely with a technician and two light microscopy
facilities on an interdisciplinary imaging project. The project will involve
frequent usage and optimization of three different microscopy setups: a
spinning disc microscope equipped with a 355 nm pulsed laser for DNA damage
induction, super-resolution based technologies (structured illumination
microscopy, SOFI, 3B) and an advanced FLIM/FCS setup (Picoquant).
Required qualifications:
• PhD in biophysics or biology-related sciences (cell biology, molecular
biology)
• Extensive experience in fluorescence microscopy and live imaging
• Excellent organization skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to collaborate with different teams

Preferable qualifications:
• Experience in laser microirradiation
• Experience in super-resolution microscopy
• Experience in FLIM-FRET and FCCS-FRET
• Image processing and analysis skills
• Experience in working with animal (human, mouse) cells
• Background in DNA damage response

The successful candidate will work in a highly supportive environment, will
receive solid training/support in advanced microscopy, will have an
opportunity to receive additional training at workshops, and will profit
from being part of the Vienna Biocenter Campus
(http://www.viennabiocenter.org/), which has a thriving academic community
and offers stimulating seminars on a daily basis.
The position is available for three years and the annual salary amounts to
€65,000.
Interested applicants should submit: (1) a CV, (2) a brief cover letter
explaining research experience and interests and (3) contact information for
three references to [hidden email], [hidden email] and
[hidden email]. Deadline for applications is April 5th 2015.
