The expanding Microscopy Imaging Facility at the Penn State College of 
Medicine, Milton S. Hershey Medical Center, in Hershey, Pennsylvania, is 
seeking a motivated and experienced Director of Scientific Programs for our 
Confocal, Deconvolution, and TEM instruments. Current and planned 
instrumentation will migrate into newly renovated space within the next year; 
Current Instrumentation includes a Leica SP2 AOBS Confocal system with 
heated stage and perfusion capacity; a Deconvolution system using the 
Huygens algorithm, and a JEOL 1400 TEM. Anticipated acquisitions within the 
next year include a Leica SP5 system and a JEOL 2100 CryoEM. Generous

The new Director of Scientific Programs will be responsible for developing and 
maintaining procedures, equipment, and policies that impact all facets of 
advanced research within the Microscopy Imaging Area. The Director will also 
Assist research investigators in data collection, analysis, and management 
systems; and perform and/or supervise analysis of data. The Director will also 
be responsible for budget planning and overall supervision of staff and research 
personnel. Minimum Qualifications include a Doctoral degree or equivalent 
knowledge, and at least 2 years related work experience.
