The definitive text on this topic is edited by Peter Jansson, one of the fathers of the technique. As a PhD student with John Sedat and Dave Agard, I contributed a chapter on deconvolution in microscopy. The 2nd edition of Peter's book was published in 1997 by Academic Press, and quickly sold out. Elsevier then bought AP, and refused to print any more copies. The result can be seen here: http://www.amazon.com/Deconvolution-Images-Spectra-Second-Edition/dp/0123802229 Note the costs of the used copy. Peter Jansson mentioned he'd seen copies on eBay for similar ridiculous amounts. After an enormous effort Peter convinced Dover Press to re-publish the the 2nd edition: http://www.amazon.com/Deconvolution-Images-Spectra-Second-Engineering/dp/0486453251 Pricing is slightly more favorable. For those wanting a detailed, rigorous treatment of the method, you'll be hard pressed to beat Peter's excellent chapters, and it's terrific that they are once again available. [No, I don't receive any royalties.] Cheers, Jason -- ************************** Wellcome Trust Centre for Gene Regulation & Expression College of Life Sciences MSI/WTB/JBC Complex University of Dundee Dow Street Dundee DD1 5EH United Kingdom phone (01382) 385819 Intl phone: 44 1382 385819 FAX (01382) 388072 email: [hidden email] Lab Page: http://www.lifesci.dundee.ac.uk/gre/staff/jason-swedlow Open Microscopy Environment: http://openmicroscopy.org ************************** |
