The Loma Linda University School of Medicine Advanced Imaging and Microscopy facility seeks a Research Microscopist to manage our multi-user microscope core equipment and conduct studies, with an emphasis in confocal microscopy. In addition to the primary role to maintain functionality with routine care of core microscopes and interactions with manufacturers for repair and warranty work, duties include coordination and logs of instrument use, as well as training of personnel and students to operate equipment. The successful candidate will have a bachelor’s degree with laboratory experience with fluorescence imaging, confocal microscopy, understanding of cytochemistry and histochemisty, and with sufficient knowledge for use of computers for image analysis. Given the diversity of research projects, there are significant opportunities for collaborative interactions and the acquisition of skills to conduct imaging studies. Capabilities for written and oral communication skills to assist with grant, manuscript, and report preparation are important to help with preparation of reports, as well as portions of manuscripts and grant applications.
