Dear Confocal Microscopy ListServ readers,

we are an imaging laboratory newly established at the MD Anderson Cancer
Center in Houston (Texas), headed by Peter Friedl, and currently looking for an
engineer/physicist interested in working with a state-of-the-art multiphoton
microscope for intravital imaging. Other systems to be maintained and further
developed towards application include a high-content microscope and different
types of confocal, epifluorescence and brightfield microscopes.

Our research is focusing on cancer invasion processes in various types of
cancer which we studied over the past 6 year more and more also in the living
animal using near-infrared and infrared multiphoton microscopy applying window
models. We further work on endoscopic-based deep organ imaging using a grin
lens and in vivo FLIM/FRAP.

In brief we need an engineer/physicist for the following:
• Maintenance and operation of the multiphoton microscope platform (3
Titanium-Sapphire lasers and 2 optical parametric oscillators) and support of
other types of microscopes and microscopy-related infrastructure
• Support and assistance to other physicists, scientists and engineers in
designing novel hardware devices for the microscope
• Support and assistance to biologists in applying the microscopes in a
profound way
• Performance of own technology based research (dependent on
qualification)

Applicants with expertise in optical microscopy and applied laser techniques are
preferred.

If you or somebody you know is interested, you can apply directly at the MD
Anderson homepage
