We will be on a big move from Texas to the Centre for Cancer Immunobiology at the University of Southampton, UK, starting this summer. This is very exciting for us as a we will be joining a world class research centre for the development of cancer therapies in a completely new building. We have been given significant resources from the University of Southampton, the Wellcome Trust, Cancer Research UK and the Royal Society to move our research group to Southampton and to set up an advanced research group in microscopy. One of the main activities will be the continued development of advanced microscopy and image analysis approaches and apply them to cutting edge research into cancer therapeutics and other cell biological questions. Over the next months we will be advertising several positions devoted to advanced microscopy, image analysis and software development. The first position that we are currently recruiting is a senior staff member who will be the head of our microscopy group. This position will play a central role in the research mission of the group, in recruiting the other group members, in defining and developing the instruments, in overseeing the research projects and in publishing high quality research in microscopy methods instrument and methods development as well as application studies.
