Dear Colleagues,

As part of the move of our laboratory to the newly established Centre for
Cancer Immunology at the University of Southampton, we have an opening for a
senior level permanent position to oversee our microscopy research  program

and spearhead  new microscopy technology development:

Job title: Senior Microscopist: Head of Microscopy Group

Salary:   £37,706 to £47,722 Per annum
Duration: Full Time Permanent
Closing Date:   Sunday 22 July 2018
The position is also eligible for non-UK/non-EU citizens and residents.

Please see https://jobs.soton.ac.uk/Vacancy.aspx?ref=1025218CM for more
details and information on how to apply.

We will be on a big move from Texas to the Centre for Cancer Immunobiology
at the University of Southampton, UK, starting this summer. This is very
exciting for us as a we will be joining a world class research centre for
the development of cancer therapies in a completely new building. We have
been given significant resources from the University of Southampton, the
Wellcome Trust, Cancer Research UK and the Royal Society to move our
research group to Southampton and to set up an advanced research group in
microscopy. One of the main activities will be the continued development of
advanced microscopy and image analysis approaches and apply them to cutting
edge research into cancer therapeutics and other cell biological questions.

Over the next months we will be advertising several positions devoted to
advanced microscopy, image analysis and software development. The first
position that we are currently recruiting is a senior staff member who will
be the head of our microscopy group. This position will play a central role
in the research mission of the group, in recruiting the other group members,
in defining and developing the instruments, in overseeing the research
projects and in publishing high quality research in microscopy methods
instrument and methods development as well as application studies.
