The core facility at the Institute for Genomic Biology is looking for a
Research Specialist with experience with light Microscopy and preparing
microscopy samples. The core houses a wide variety of optical microscopes
including a Super Resolution Structured Illumination Microscope, three
confocal microscopes, two widefield fluorescence microscopes, a slide
scanner, laser capture system, and two dissecting scopes. In addition to
the optical microscopes the core has sample preparation instrumentation
including a cryostat, automatic tissue processor, embedding station, GCMS
and two microtomes. The successful applicant of this highly technical,
scientific position will train graduate students, postdocs, and faculty from
the IGB and across campus to use imaging and sample preparation
instrumentation as well as prepare samples for researchers.
