Position in Microscopy and Imaging Shared Resource

Incumbent will function as the manager of Training and Development for
the Microscopy and Imaging Shared Resource. Essential skills include
widefield and confocal microscopy, image analysis, and, if possible,
electron microscopy. The incumbent will bear the primary responsibility
for overseeing the training of new users and providing expert technical
assistance and distributing timely updates and information to current
users in a setting of minimal supervision. In addition, the utilization
and applications of the Shared Resource instrumentation will be recorded
and made public by efforts of the incumbent via web pages and news
letters. The incumbent will oversee student workers in the Shared
Resources as well as graduate students and postdoctoral fellows. They
will also develop and maintain training protocols and organize seminars
for users seeking to learn advanced fluorescent imaging techniques such
as FRAP and FRET. At a minimum, a Bachelor's degree is required as well
as microscopy experience including practical use, training of users and
some knowledge of biology. More experienced and credentialed candidates
could collaborate with investigators. Computer skills are critical.
