Our lab develops computational and experimental imaging and modeling
methods for cell biology and microbiology. Our main aim is to leverage
super-resolution imaging to study chromosome architecture and its
functional relevance. Another interest is to analyze the replication cycle
of viruses, in particular HIV. We also collaborate with other labs that
require super-resolution imaging in a variety of other projects. In
parallel, we are actively interested in pushing the limits of current
imaging technologies using a combination of approaches from optics,
computation and chemistry.

We have an opening for a research engineer position to support our lab's
efforts in applying and improving single molecule super-resolution imaging,
and related data analysis. The candidate is expected to have a strong
background in computer science, applied mathematics, physics or a related
field. Prior experience in microscopy, image analysis, or optics would be a
significant plus. Training in biology is not essential, but we require an
interest in biomedical research and a willingness to work in a highly
interdisciplinary and collaborative setting.

The position is initially for 36 months (18 months renewable once), but can
later be turned into a permanent research engineer position.
