We are looking for highly motivated and curiosity driven PostDocs and PhD-students to join the group of Stefan Jakobs at the Max Planck Institute for Biophysical Chemistry and at the University Medical School Göttingen, Germany.

We work on the structure and dynamics of mitochondria with a focus on the factors that shape and maintain the complex folding of the mitochondrial inner membrane. We use a wide range of advanced super-resolution microscopy methods including the recently developed MINFLUX microscopy, STED and RESOLFT nanoscopy, classical electron microscopy and others in combination with molecular biology (e.g. CRISPR/Cas9 genome editing) and biochemistry. We are also dedicated to the development of new labelling methods to be used in super-resolution microscopy on fixed and living samples.
The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work with one of the world's first commercially available MINFLUX microscopes and combine several methods to address questions in mitochondrial biology.

Available positions are embedded in projects funded by the German Research Foundation or by the Advanced Grant ‘MitoCRISTAE’ of the European Research Council.
