The postdoctoral fellow will act as the dedicated scientific liaison for the Imaging Project within the established collaborative research center (CRC/SFB 1181) on Resolution in Inflammation. The position is based at the Optical Imaging Centre Erlangen (OICE) in Erlangen, the scientist will be responsible for running various imaging systems and will support the several research efforts of the network both directly through his/her own experimental work and indirectly via training the users at OICE. A particular emphasis will be on in-vivo imaging systems. The postdoctoral scientist will also closely collaborate with the Max-Planck Institute for the Science of Light and with the Preclinical Imaging Platform Erlangen (PIPE) at the medical school. Furthermore there are close connections to two excellence initiatives "Engineering of Advanced Materials" and "School of Advanced Optical Technologies". A translational research centre and a new joint venture between Max-Planxk and the Medical Faculty "The centre for Physics and Medicine" complement the excellent research environment for someone interested to be at the forefront of emerging imaging technologies. The successful candidate will enjoy working in a dynamic international and interdisciplinary environment with exposure to a wide range of biological and medical topics. In addition to having a strong scientific background and excellent experimental skills, he/she will be a highly driven and dedicated person who thrives when confronted with challenges. Very good communication and personal skills will be prerequisit for an effective collaborative interaction. This position needs a person with a very open approach to researchers of various backgrounds and experiences.
