Dear colleagues,

I have a post-doctoral position available in my lab, please forward this email to anyone who might be interested.

A2260R - Research Associate
Institute for Cell Molecular Biosciences, Newcastle upon Tyne
Closing date: 26/07/2015
Faculty/Services: Faculty of Medical Sciences
Unit: Institute for Cell Molecular Biosciences
Location: Newcastle upon Tyne

Research Associate   Salary: £28,695 - £30,434 (with progression to £37,394)

You will work in the laboratory of Dr Seamus Holden, based in the Centre for Bacterial Cell Biology, Institute for Cell and Molecular Biosciences (ICaMB).  You will work on the biophysics of bacterial cell division using super-resolution microscopy.  The project will combine single molecule biophysics, bacterial cell biology and super-resolution microscopy (STORM/ PALM) method development, to study the organisation and dynamics of bacterial cell division proteins, primarily in the gram-positive model organism Bacillus subtilis.

The overall aim is to improve our understanding of the physical mechanisms of cell division.   Experience in biophysics and optics would be preferable.  You would be expected to be in possession of a PhD by the time of the appointment.   You will be enthusiastic and highly motivated with excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.   Tenable for three years.

This post is based in Newcastle upon Tyne.   Informal enquiries should be directed to Dr Holden - e-mail: [hidden email]

Best wishes
Seamus
