I would be most grateful if you could recommend to any suitable persons. Interested candidates can contact me directly by email for informal discussion. Thanks a lot Best regards Giuseppe Vicidomini Postdoc Position on Image Processing and Analysis for Super-Resolution Microscopy - [ Postdoc ] Workplace: Genova, IIT Expires on: 13/03/2019 IIT (www.iit.it) invites qualified level applicants for a Post Doc junior position at the “Molecular Microscopy and Spectroscopy” Research Line lead by Dr. Giuseppe Vicidomini. Candidates should have a solid background and good experimental skills in image processing/analysis, should be strongly motivated and keen to work in an interdisciplinary research field. The selected candidate will work on novel computational methods, with the aim of improving the information content and the spatial and temporal resolution/range of super-resolution microscopy. Our group recently introduced a novel single-photon detector array (Castello et al., Nat. Methods, 16, 175–178, 2019) that when integrated into a point scanning microscope allows measuring both the arrival-time and the image-plane position of the detected photons. This ability gives access to a series of novel spatial and temporal dimensions typically discarded/averaged during the microscope image formation process. The candidate will use image deconvolution, deep/machine learning, or other computational tools to explore these new dimensions and achieve better microscopy performances Essential qualifications for this position include a PhD in computer science, physics, engineering or closely related discipline. Advanced coding skills (Python and/or Matlab, C#) and former experience with deep learning are highly desirable. Expertise in microscopy and controlling system will be considered a plus. Detailed information about the research can be requested via email to Giuseppe Vicidomini at [hidden email]. Your application (deadline is March 13th, 2019): Applications, including a CV, cover letter, research statement and contact information of 2 referees, should be submitted to Dr. Giuseppe Vicidomini at [hidden email] , quoting “Post Doc BC 76187” in the subject.
