This position provides an unusual opportunity for professional
development, due to the small business culture with diverse
responsibilities.  This will be a one year appointment with the possibility
of continuation or leading to a possible full-time position.

Requirements:  A PhD or equivalent in Electrical Engineering or Computer
Engineering.  Depending on background and interests, Biomedical Engineering
will be considered.  A background and strong interest in signals and systems
is required.  Experience with software development is required.  Exposure to
one or more of the following is required: Matlab, C++, Qt or C#.  Experience
with any of the following are desirable but not all are required: imaging,
communications, information-theory, detection-and-estimation, random
processes, optimization methods, inverse problems and related areas.

Responsibilities:

Hands on development, troubleshooting of research-level, prototype and
production-level software and imaging algorithms.

Advanced research and development of algorithms, including the original
creative development of new algorithms.  Advanced applied research and
investigation into the physical underpinnings that lead to new image
recovery algorithms, including the physics behind optical, x-ray, radar,
ultrasonic, 3D microscopy, confocal microscopy, computed tomography,
synthetic aperture and other systems.

Original creation of new ideas for technology:  This responsibility includes
the contribution to authorship of proposals to sponsors.  Sponsors include
the Dept. of Defense, the National Institutes of Health, private companies
and private medical clinics.

Participation in all engineering aspects of the production release cycle,
including system/coding development, troubleshooting, bug fixing and
testing.
