Dear colleagues,
The groups of *Dr. Sami Farhi*, head of the Optical Profiling Platform at
Broad Institute at Cambridge, MA , and *Dr. Brian Cleary,* Broad Fellow,
are seeking a creative and highly-motivated postdoctoral associate to
develop new experimental technologies for massively scaled imaging
transcriptomics. In particular, we are developing methods of composite
imaging that will leverage the mathematics of compressed sensing to extract
orders of magnitude more information from imaging transcriptomics
measurements. The resulting methods will enable greater multiplexing and
sample throughput, with the goal of imaging large tissue volumes, perhaps
even entire organs, on the order of days, and will further our goal of
comprehensively understanding tissue physiology at a molecular scale. This
project is a close collaboration with the laboratories of *Dr. Aviv Regev* at
the Broad Institute and *Dr. Yonina Eldar* at the Weizmann Institute in
Israel.
The Optical Profiling Platform operates with the dual goals of developing
advanced imaging methods for investigating cell phenotypes on a
single-cell, high-throughput basis and making these methods available to
the larger scientific community. The Cleary lab is a multi-disciplinary
systems biology group that uses algorithms not just as tools, but as a lens
to redefine the limits of experimental biology.
The ideal candidate will have experience with tissue handling and
preparation, smFISH (or related derivatives such as MERFISH) and/or
immunofluorescence (or CODEX, CyTOF, etc.), and will have made significant
contributions to their field of study – ideally having studied the
principles of tissue organization – evidenced by a strong publication
record. Interested candidates should send a CV, references and a cover
letter to both

Best,
Sami & Brian
