Two Postdoctoral Positions in Advanced Imaging of Synapse Dynamics
Laboratories of Kimberley McAllister & Mark Goldman
Center for Neuroscience, UC Davis
The McAllister & Goldman laboratories are soliciting applications for two
fully funded postdoctoral positions to study synapse dynamics. These
fellows will use advanced imaging techniques, a cutting-edge imaging
system, and a novel long-term imaging assay together with computational
approaches to study the learning rules and molecular signaling pathways
that underlie the formation, elimination, and stability of glutamatergic and
GABAergic synapses. Experience in microscopy, optogenetics, molecular
biology, neuronal cell culture, and experience with mathematical modeling
through training in fields such as physics, applied math, computer science,
engineering, or computational neuroscience are preferred but not
required. The recruit will join a collegial, collaborative and vibrant Center
for Neuroscience studying the development and function/dysfunction of the
CNS, with strengths in synaptic biology, neural development, and
neurodevelopmental disorders. The positions are available immediately
and are open until filled.
