Highly talented, motivated, productive and ambitious postdoctoral fellow to start immediately. The laboratory has several grants and has excellent molecular and cellular imaging facilities. Dr. Paller is also Principal Investigator of the NIH-funded Skin Disease Research Center. Northwestern University is one of the top-ranked universities in the country with a highly interactive scientific environment. The Feinberg School of Medicine, known for its innovative teaching and pioneering research, is located in the heart of downtown Chicago. • Perform knockdown studies, advanced microscopy, surgical procedures in mice, and other cell and animal based work as needed • Culture and manipulate 3D organotypic cultures for biochemical and microscopy analysis • Integrate big data and cell and animal based studies for biologic outcome analysis • Perform literature reviews and draft/ edit manuscripts • Present data in written and oral form at local and national meetings • Generate preliminary data and help PI with grant writing as needed Minimum Qualifications: Ph.D. in molecular biology, cell biology, biochemistry and/or nanobiotechnology Minimum Competencies: • Experience in isolating and processing human and/or mouse tissues and cells for further molecular analyses • Ideally, experience with microscopy, immunoblotting, RNA analysis, and some mouse experience • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English • Ability to efficiently draft manuscripts for fast-paced publication of results • Ability to multitask and manage multiple ongoing projects simultaneously • Ability to work independently and as part of a team Salary and benefits are competitive.
