A new postdoctoral opportunity is available with the US EPA Human Studies Facility, located on the UNC-Chapel Hill campus.
Our lab conducts studies on the oxidative effects of exposure of human lung cells to air pollutants. The approach is centered on live cell microscopy using genetically-encoded, fluorescence-based reporters of reactive oxygen species, glutathione redox potential and bioenergetic markers such as NADPH and ATP.
The ideal candidate will have previous experience using live cell fluorescence microscopy, preferably LSCM, and general molecular biology techniques such as transfection, western blotting, RT-PCR, etc. The postdoctoral fellowship is appointed through the Oak Ridge Institute for Science and Education (ORISE).
