A postdoctoral research position is available in the Quantitative Tissue Diagnostics
Laboratory at the University of Arkansas under the direction of Dr. Kyle P. Quinn.  Our
multidisciplinary lab focuses on developing quantitative biomarkers for non-invasive, real-
time assessments of tissue structure and function to diagnose diseased states and guide
therapies.  This postdoctoral opening will be funded by a 3-year NIH grant to evaluate in
vivo skin wound healing dynamics using endogenous sources of contrast available through
multi-photon microscopy.  The individual will be responsible for conducting in vivo imaging
studies and coordinating aspects of other ongoing projects in the lab.  Individuals with
experiences building and/or maintaining a laser scanning microscope and familiarity with
time correlated single photon counting are preferred.  Individuals should have working
knowledge of confocal and multiphoton microscopy and a comfort level with computer-
controlled instrumentation.  Expertise in MATLAB and/or programming for quantitative
image analysis is highly desirable.

Applicants must possess a doctorate in engineering, physics, or the life sciences.  Effective
communications skills are critical, and the individual should have an ability to coordinate
multiple projects and work independently in a collaborative environment.  Competitive
salary for this position will be negotiated on the basis of years of relevant experience,
publication record, and strength of letters of recommendation.

Interested candidates should send a cover letter detailing their research interests and
background, their curriculum vitae, contact information for three references, and copies of
up to three representative first author publications.  For a complete position announcement
and information regarding how to apply, visit http://jobs.uark.edu/postings/9101.
Application materials may also be directly emailed to Dr. Quinn at [hidden email].
